Image
Bitcoin faces a watershed moment thanks to an inflammatory cocktail of inflation spurred by war — and a $1 million BTC price is still possible, the former BitMEX CEO says. Bitcoin (BTC) faces a “ trigger ” moment which keeps a $1 million BTC price tag in play, one of its household names says. In a blog post titled “The Periphery” released on Oct. 24, Arthur Hayes, former CEO of crypto exchange BitMEX, said that Bitcoin is already warning markets about the future. "Global wartime inflation" to drive Bitcoin, gold price With the United States increasingly invested in two new wars, the risk of escalation worldwide is growing, Hayes believes. The timing is conspicuous — the U.S. Federal Reserve faces persisting inflation but has halted interest rate hikes, and a so-called “bear steepener” looms for the economy. “The structural hedging needs of banks and the borrowing needs of the US war machine reflexively feed on one another in the US Treasury market,” he wrote. “If long-term U...

US Treasury sanctions Gaza-based crypto exchange

The U.S. Department of the Treasury’s Office of Foreign Assets Control (OFAC) issued sanctions on Buy Cash, a digital asset exchange located in Gaza used by Hamas for terror financing. Per a press release published on Oct. 18, the OFAC’s directive imposed sanctions on ten key Hamas members and financial cooperators across Algeria, Sudan, Turkey and Qatar. The treasury department cited a trail of transactions involving Bitcoin as authorities implement policies to choke off illicit funding via crypto . The transfer was facilitated by a Türkiye-based money services business operator and al-Qa’ida affiliate. This play-to-earn game offers NFTs linked to physical items like gold

Image
The days of wasting hundreds of hours on a game and receiving almost nothing in return are over — and it's all thanks to NFTs and blockchain technology. Blockchain gaming is going from strength to strength — underpinned by the explosion of nonfungible tokens, which continue to achieve mainstream adoption. The FRUITS Eco-Blockchain Project is building on this momentum by allowing NFTs to be redeemed for a coveted, real-world object: a physical golden egg. First came the console, then the humble PC. Smartphones soon came along and transformed the entertainment industry entirely — making games free to play, and putting them in the hands of consumers in emerging economies. Now, blockchain technology and nonfungible tokens (NFT) are ushering in the next wave of innovation. Once, in-game assets couldn't be transported from one title to another, traded freely with others, and sold on secondary markets. Web3 makes this possible — all while allowing avid players to receive recognition...

Honda vehicles only accept cryptocurrency payments through third-party platforms.

Image
FCF Pay’s X account finds itself in a state of suspension due to the rampant spread of misinformation regarding its supposed “partnership” with Honda, an alliance that has never materialized. Honda, the prominent automobile manufacturer, does not accept cryptocurrency payments directly. However, individuals can still employ cryptocurrencies like Bitcoin as a means to acquire a Honda vehicle through third-party intermediaries. In early October, various publications erroneously claimed that Honda had begun embracing cryptocurrency as a valid payment method. Contrary to these reports, a Honda spokesperson clarified to Cointelegraph, saying, “American Honda does not accept cryptocurrency as a form of payment. The recent reports suggesting a shift in this policy are inaccurate.” When queried further about their stance on cryptocurrency or any prospective plans for integrating crypto payments, Honda chose not to provide additional comments. Despite the unavai...

This new crypto debit card brings low fees and convenience to cryptocurrency payments

Image
Despite the hype surrounding cryptocurrencies, few people are using the digital asset for its intended purpose — payments. Cryptocurrencies offer several advantages to traditional money, including lower costs, faster transfers, and decentralized systems that do not collapse at a single point of failure. Despite these benefits, many people don’t consider digital currencies practical for everyday use. Moreover, the currently available crypto debit card solutions often require tedious transfers and incur high fees, making the process unfeasible for everyday users. Leading crypto exchange Bybit wants to change that, promising to make using cryptocurrencies more convenient and rewarding for users. There are more and more companies accepting crypto currencies as a form of payment . While there has been some institutional interest, it hasn’t been enough for most businesses to start accepting digital currency transactions. As a result, it is difficult for a cryptocurrency user to make purch...
