InputOutputHK (IOHK), the leading blockchain infrastructure research and engineering company behind the Cardano project, has taken to X (formerly Twitter) to celebrate the project’s sixth anniversary. IOHK congratulated the Cardano Community for the growth it has experienced over the years and the milestones achieved while thanking everyone involved in the project for their dedication.

IOHK highlighted the celebration of Cardano in 2018 to mark its first anniversary. The company created an infographic showing Cardano’s key achievements in its first year of existence. Some of the highlighted points include the development of Cardano into a scalable and interoperable network. The company also showed Cardano as a multi-layer protocol with high assurance of resilience and security.

In Cardano’s first year, its community grew across multiple social networks. IOHK revealed that Cardano’s official Telegram channel grew from 0 to 15,289, its Facebook followers increased from 1,641 to 27,604, and its web forum, which started from scratch, had 8,548 members on its first anniversary.

The Cardano team grew to 182 people across different disciplines in the first year. The project uploaded 94 videos on YouTube and published ten research papers put together by 41 researchers.

Five years later, Cardano has grown in multiple proportions, and IOHK believes there is more room for expansion. At the time of writing, more than 269,000 were following IOHK on X. Cardano’s Telegram community has grown so big, spreading across more than 30 countries and regions. The project also has multiple accounts on Facebook, Reddit, GitHub, LinkedIn, YouTube, and other social networks under variations of the Cardano, IOHK, and EMURGO identities.

While celebrating the famous project, one community member, Gary Holloway, advised IOHK to consider monied partnerships. According to Holloway, development is all well and good, but adoption will only occur when companies use the product. Otherwise, it would remain a toy to tinker with.
